Home Ramp Project
The Washington County Commission on Aging Home Ramp Project was developed to provide wheelchair ramps for home access to people in Washington County who have mobility needs. By recruiting the services of volunteers and using a modular design for ramps, the cost of home ramps is significantly reduced. Additionally, CAT's modular design allows the construction of ramps that can be easily removed and reused if the need for a ramp no longer exists. Ramps are designed in concert with local architects and approved by local building code authorities. Ramps are provided on a sliding scale with the individual repaying all or part of the ramp cost monthly over a pre-defined period. In certain situations, the ramp can be provided at no cost.
