      Dr. Monica Stallworth was named the Chief of Staff at the Western Maryland Hospital Center, a State of Maryland long-term healthcare facility in September,2007.

      “It’s our privilege to have Dr. Stallworth join our medical staff,” said Cynthia M. Pellegrino, WMHC’s CEO. “Her extensive healthcare background will be an asset to our hospital as we meet the challenges of our citizens’ medical and rehabilitation needs now and in the future.

      Dr. Stallworth comes to Western Maryland Hospital Center with a wealth of experience. She is Board Certified in Family Practice, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Geriatric Medicine.

      “It’s a great opportunity to be working at Western Maryland Hospital Center with this fine group of medical professionals,” said Stallworth. “The more I become familiar with the various departments and witness the positive results, the more impressed I am.”

      “With the quality of the WMHC team and the wide variety of resource in our state, we have the potential to not only be recognized regionally, but with hard work, we can become the benchmark for rehabilitation services nationally,” Stallworth concluded.

      Dr. Stallworth received her medical education (MD) at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Harvard University of Public Health and a Masters Degree in Healthcare Management (MM) from Cambridge College.

      Her most recent positions were as a faculty member at Georgetown University and as an Instructor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. In addition, Dr. Stallworth is an avid golfer and a published poet.
